Announcement of key work of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization
According to a report by CCTV News,the signing ceremony for the "Agreement on the Establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization" was held in Shanghai on the 16th, with 29 countries from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe signing the agreement on the spot and becoming founding member states. Reporters learned from relevant sources that this marks significant progress in the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization advocated and promoted by China. In the next stage, China will work with the founding member states of the Cooperation Organization to promote the early launch and operation of the organization. The future Cooperation Organization will focus on three aspects of work.
Firstly, it is imperative to prioritize international cooperation in strengthening AI capacity building. By means of policy exchanges, technical cooperation, personnel training, joint research, and other approaches, we can enhance the accessibility of AI technology and services, continuously unleash the dividends of intelligence, and ensure that developing countries benefit equally from the new wave of intelligence.
Secondly, based on communication and dialogue, policy consensus-building, and the sharing of best practices, we should effectively leverage the role of supply-demand matching platforms, promote the deep integration and complementarity of advantageous resources from various countries, advance the "AI+" initiative tailored to each country's national conditions, strengthen cooperation in science and technology and industries, encourage the joint construction of an open-source ecosystem, and create a series of practical cooperation outcomes that are grounded in reality and accessible.
Third, we are committed to firmly upholding the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, supporting the better utilization of the United Nations' role, implementing the Global Digital Compact and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting the establishment of a fair and reasonable global governance system in the field of artificial intelligence.
It is understood that the agreement signed on the 16th includes specific contents such as organizational purposes, basic principles, functions, organizational structure, decision-making procedures, and membership qualifications, laying a solid political consensus and legal foundation for the formal establishment and subsequent operation of the organization. The cooperation organization serves as a platform for international exchange and cooperation. Joining the cooperation organization will not affect the cooperation between countries and third parties, nor will it bring unnecessary constraints and limitations to the development of artificial intelligence in various countries. Member countries of the cooperation organization will uphold the principles of sovereign equality, mutual respect, and joint construction through consultation. In the future, they will explore cooperation with international and regional organizations such as the United Nations to jointly promote the development of artificial intelligence towards a beneficial and inclusive direction.
