First turbines grid-connected at China's tallest northwest wind power project

Journalists learned from China Huaneng on the 2nd that the first batch of wind turbines at the Huaneng Akqi County 300MW Wind Power Project – the highest-altitude wind power project in northwest China – have been successfully connected to the grid.
Located in the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang, the Huaneng Akqi County 300MW Wind Power Project boasts a maximum altitude of 3,700 meters, making it the highest-altitude wind power project built and put into operation in northwest China to date. The project is designed to install 45 wind turbine units with a single capacity of 6.7MW, along with a supporting 30MW/60MWh electrochemical energy storage station.
