According to a report by CHINA DAILY,General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping ,recently, made an important instructions, pointing out that Yiwu small commodities have broken into a large market and developed into a major industry, forming the "Yiwu development experience". This is a successful practice of developing the county economy according to local conditions.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that it is necessary to combine the learning and education on establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements, further summarize and apply the "Yiwu development experience", guide all regions to base themselves on their own resource endowments, respect the grassroots and the people's pioneering spirit, reform and innovate, work hard and persistently, explore and find a path of high-quality development that suits their respective realities, and better serve and integrate into the overall national development situation.

During his tenure in Zhejiang, President Xi Jinping conducted multiple research visits to Yiwu, summarizing and promoting the "Yiwu development experience".Over the years, Yiwu has continuously written a new chapter of "small commodities, big market". Currently, there are over 1.26 million business entities operating in the small commodity market, and it has trade relations with more than 230 countries and regions. In 2025, its foreign trade export value ranked first among counties (cities, districts).
